Tell us what you can do, when you are around, and what departments you want to grow in. Grindspot uses volunteer support for community, training, events, and production days. When paid jobs come up, volunteers may receive first refusal for work they are suitably qualified for, under the terms below.

First refusal means Grindspot may contact a suitable volunteer before advertising or offering a paid role more widely. It is not a guarantee of paid work. Paid work, contractor terms, employment terms, rates, safety requirements, and availability are confirmed separately for each job.

Volunteer responsibilities: please look after your own belongings, vehicles, gear, travel plans, and personal costs. The Grindspot carpark is fenced but open during the day. Parking is to the right of the entrance along the fence line. Grindspot and other businesses on site are not responsible for damage, theft, loss, fines, towing, or incidents involving your vehicle or property.

I understand first refusal is an opportunity to be contacted first for suitable paid jobs, not a guarantee of paid work. I understand Grindspot decides suitability based on skills, experience, availability, reliability, safety, legal work status, and project needs. I understand any paid job must be confirmed separately in writing, including role, rate, dates, payment terms, and whether the role is contractor or employee work. I understand volunteer roles are voluntary community/training opportunities and should not replace a confirmed paid role. I understand Grindspot may set a response deadline for first refusal offers, and may offer the job elsewhere if I do not respond in time. I agree to follow Grindspot safety instructions, call times, confidentiality requests, respectful conduct standards, and location rules. I understand I am responsible for my own vehicle, belongings, equipment, and parking choices while on site, including in the fenced carpark. I understand any expenses, purchases, travel costs, materials, reimbursements, or commitments made on behalf of Grindspot must be approved by Grindspot first, in writing where possible.
